The site was created in 2007 as a website for my Java-based MMORPG, Exodus Online. For over a year, this main GameBrewers site did
not exist, just the Exodus Online one. I was working on Exodus Online with a friend at first, until I found out the hard way that
it's not a good idea to try to make a game with a friend, no matter how good your friendship. Soon I was working on the game alone
(but I did repair the friendship), and I progressed to the point of having a working client-server model, where you could walk
around and see other players.
I kept hammering at it until two things became apparent. One, the Java-based 3D engine I was using
was not very powerful - I would have to switch to one that used C++, and two, God was now leading me to pursue other things.
So I switched my focus to smaller 2D games, such as Torch, and very small 3D games, such as Checkers. I also created G-Force for the
Christian Developers Network SpeedGame in summer 2009 and made some wallpapers and other small projects.
I will eventually return to my star project Exodus Online, but that's a topic for the Future page.
