Future
I have an extensive list of things I want to do with GameBrewers over the next few months, finishing up 2009 and moving into '10. Of course, I can't do all of them, but I can focus on one of them at a time and knock them off the list. Here's a preview: Exodus OnlineYes! After the Torch Deluxe Update, I'll begin working on Exodus All it took was one good book on multiplayer game programming (yes, I actually had to spend some money *gasp*) and I now have a good knowledge of C++ networking. Using the book and the MMORPG PlaneShift as templates, I already have a basic network framework as well. Whether or not this game will begin construction in February, it is officially the next project after Dakingru: Heroes. Look for updates to the EO site leading up to the completion of Heroes. The Distant FutureSome game developers have scores of ideas floating around their heads, and I am one of those game developers. I have ideas for games other than those listed above. Some of those ideas are outlined on the right. I plan on doing these in no particular order, they're just my ideas, but generally I'll do the easier ones first. Also, I hope to recruit at least one more developer to help me on my Java projects. Animalia in particular will be quite hard without a dedicated network programmer. |
Exodus Online
A futuristic MMORPG featuring two warring factions, construction abilities, and first-person-shooter control elements. This one had to go at the top of my list. I love my ideas for this game, it was my first idea (ambitious, I know), and it's the one I'm most passionate about. I got about 1/10 of the way done with this game before finding out I would have to switch my programming language and 3D engine, setting me back to square one. I'm springing back from that setback, and you can visit the game's site. C++ Application |

Animalia
This is based on a card game I designed similar to the Pokemon Trading Card Game. It would work in a similar fashion to the battles in the Pokemon games for GameBoy, but with a multiplayer lobby and ranking system. The ranking system may have to go if I can't get another programmer on the job to help me with the networking code, bet regardless, it would be a pretty fun game - the card game's a hit with everyone I've shown it to. Dakingru Heroes and Kingdoms
The idea grew from arguments my brothers used to have when they were younger about which of their imaginary civilizations was the best one. I said, "Well, someday I'll have to make a game where you can just fight it out to see for yourself." Thus came the idea for Dakingru (the name of one of the civilizations), a futuristic/fantasy world RTS. Dakingru Heroes is a strategy game without the economy - control a small band of heroic units. Dakingru Kingdoms is a full-blown RTS.C++ Application |
